Boyd….Brookes and Bridig….2012 Houston Heights see below for befores and AFTERS ;)
This was a 2 part creation, plus drive and a new deck added also. Included water feature, pergola, paths, flagstone patios, gas firepit, deck, beds, 4 seating areas, fence hiding, a HILL, and drainage control…..These afters taken just a month or 3 from planting. Some of the non spreading bamboos will get 30-50 ft., the fencing will disappear as the bushes, shrubs , flowers and grasses keep growing. LOTS of blooming plants and all xeriscaped, so little water needed.
The client can and has added to the sanctuary with their own touches as suggested to help make it truly their own private retreat with their own special items and finds.
I recommend less mass produced Asian furniture or furnishings with all my clients. Those items have no energy ( chi) , are mass produced and look it, do not last long, and are always very unappealing since no human grace or elegance has gone into their design nor implementation.
And they are everywhere-0ften cheaply made copies of other designers, that will not last long and end up in a landfill soon……..Since most folks don’t know where else to shop or look for far more interesting finds, they tend to settle for what’s easy and cheap and, unfortunately, it always looks exactly like that to others.
. I recommend buying older American items that were built to last and they reflect that , refurbishing where necessary and adding architectural pieces and functional items that are handcrafted by artisans who care (d) about their creations. Kabloom does that , nothing we create is massproduced looking and never looks like anyone else’s work but Jeff Law’s.
